2020 KARMA REVERO GT/GTS

2020 LUXURY GREEN CAR OF THE YEAR

2018 - 2020  |  TECHNICAL DESIGNER UI/UX  -  Kanzi Studio

Developed a complete UI system from the ground up, from concept to production:

  • Translated mock-ups into usable assets in order to create individual UI components in Kanzi Studio.

  • Collaborated closely with designers and engineers to ensure the seamless integration of UI elements, finding a balance between desired aesthetics and the technical constraints of the tools and hardware being used.

Spearheaded the design and development of innovative features:

  • Took a leading role in designing and developing new features for the vehicle's UI system, including an energy consumption graph, gauges, track mode, and launch mode graphics.

  • Brainstormed ideas, conceptualized solutions, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to bring these features to life.

Expanded plug-in functionality using C++:

  • Enhanced and expanded the functionality of existing Kanzi Studio plug-ins to optimize performance and support the seamless implementation of key features.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION GRAPH:

  • Led the development of an energy consumption graph on the instrument cluster using GLSL shaders.

  • Provides real-time information about the vehicle's energy usage, allowing the driver to monitor and optimize their driving habits for efficiency.

  • Worked on the visual design of the graph as well as its integration with the vehicle's data systems.

GAUGES:

  • Provides valuable information regarding real-time performance metrics (lateral/longitudinal g-force, power to wheels, coolant temperature, etc.).

  • Collaborated with the design and engineering teams to ensure these features were both visually appealing and functionally accurate.

  • Developed C++ plug-in to expose gauge information to Kanzi Studio.

TRACK MODE:

  • Experimental feature displaying vital, real-time information relating to track performance (tire pressure/temperature, g-force, vehicle yaw, torque vectoring, lap time, course mapping).

  • Developed C++ plug-in to enable integration of real-time positional data from vehicle with Kanzi Studio. This involved leveraging a material to store up to 256 points of data and utilizing a shader to generate a dynamic map showing the course taken along with the power expenditure at each point (represented by color).

LAUNCH MODE:

  • Designed visually striking graphics and animations that are displayed during launch mode.

  • Synchronized animations with real-time vehicle data.

  • Contributed to an enhanced user experience by highlighting the overall excitement and thrill of the vehicle's impressive acceleration capabilities.
